Arm Rest/Door Pull Removal

Does anyone know how the arm rest is attached to the door panel on an 02 Z28? I was planing on replacing it but while I was looking at the door panel on my sons 99 Camaro, it looked like there was some sort of plastic rivet holding it on (besides the srews). I did not want to remove the door panel until I was sure that the arm rest is a seperate part from the door panel. Thanks for any help.

Re: Arm Rest/Door Pull Removal

Your door panel should be the same as mine, I have a 97 Z-28. I just recently took off the door panel. It had two screws to be removed that are visible on top of the arm rest and two in front that is near the power controls for mirror, door locks, etc. Dont forget the one screw by itself that is directly above the handle. All together there was 5 screws. I also suggest you take off the little triangular plastic piece on the inside of the mirror. It helps when you are aligning the panel to put back on.

Once you have the screws out You have to push in at the top along the window seal and lift the whole panel up/out. Look at the back side of the panel, I beleave the arm rest just snaps in place.
