Another A/C question

I fixed the A/C in my car Saturday and the air is cold but it doesn't seem that it blows very hard. It takes it about 10 minutes to get the car comfortable after sitting for awhile in 100 degree heat. I have never had A/C before so I really don't know what is normal. I do know that my buddy's '95 Z28 blows alot harder but he also has a Firebird dash, if that makes a difference.

Down here in Orlando it can take 20-30 minutes to get the car cold on a hot sunny day... 10 minutes doesn't sound so bad to me...

Re: Another A/C question

The hotter the outside temperature is, the harder the A/C will have to work to cool the incoming air, resulting in longer times for the car to cool down inside. I work at a Nissan dealership, and this past week up here in va temps rose from high 80's to over 100 with alot of humidity. You wouldn't believe the flood of calls we received with people complaining, " Well, the past few days my a/c just hasn't been as cold as it usually is, I think I should make an appt to come in and have it checked out....." It drove our service writers crazy!

If the cars are in warranty, just find an easy o ring to install and claim a leak check, o ring install and a/c recovery and recharge. I work for Benz, and our warranty a/c work pays great!

Re: Another A/C question

if it's not blowing hard check under your dash on passenger side and see if it has sucked up any trash or something. sometimes it will catch something and will block it from being able to suck as much in.
