Angry Annoying Squeak...

i have this squeak that seems to be coming from the rear hatch area...i just recently started noticing it and have no idea what is causing it...maybe its just because it got alot colder out...but it needs to go...when im driving the only time you can hear it is when i hit a bump in the road...then u get the squeak for the duration of the bump...other than that its fine...could it be the hydraulic arms that support the hatch??? any ideas are appreciated because i wanna take car of this annoyance sometime before the end of winter...thanks guys

yeah, these cars will never be mistaken for a Lexus when it comes to fit and finish. Just to many big panels to flex and make noise.

even an overpriced toyota squeeks...

For a camaro squeek lube the hinges and latch on the hatch and the hinges on the rear seat backrest too.

no one ever thinks about it. but you have two rubber stops back there for the hatch to rest on. it gets cold. they get hard, and then start to squeak or make nose. it's prtty common. one of the same reasons T-Tops squeak in the winter. Hard rubber on solid surface = squeak . Alot like a tennis shoe on a gym floor

Thanks for the update on the crash. Two more things to check. Make sure they got the gas tank filler tube installed correctly and not touching metal to metal on the body. Also, on my 01 Z-28 there is a panel at the rear of the driver side rear wheel well to access the filter canister. Mine came lose and rattled around until I snapped it back in place.

I had that problem in the winter time too. Mine was caused by the metal to metal contact on the rear seat latch. I fixed it my covering the little metal bar where the latch hooks on with electrical tape.

Hasn't squeaked since!
