Actually, 3AM on TLC, right now there is an ad for ZMAX on - if anyone wants to check out their claims... I was watching it and getting fed up and wondered if there was truth to anything; figured there would be some since they have some 150,000 mi guarantee where if something happens to engine, tranny, etc. ZMAX would pick up the tab -- now that's how they worded it, one could only imagine under what conditions...
I hate stuff like that in the stores...I must confess to using a bottle of Slick 50® Fuel System Formula
- not engine treatment though.....I don't know if I have any fait in any fuel system formulas either though, but I do believe SOME to be more good than bad.

Re: Additives that REALLY work!
only thing i use is STP Fuel System cleaner once every 8k miles or so. when i do my sub-frame connectors on my '00, i'm gonna change all my fluids and replace using the Royal Purple brand. i've heard many great things about Royal Purple fluids.

Red Line fuel injection cleaner is some good stuff in my book - it in my experience has improved mileage while being used !
I use Watter Wetter as well - can't tell if it works, but it has not hurt that I can tell.
Dam idiot light temp gauges on the 99' s & up ...

Re: Additives that REALLY work!
i drive my car like its meant to be driven so you would think carbon wouldnt build up, but when i seafoamed this past weekend i made tons of smoke....i had about a Ľ tank....i ran a whole bottle thru the BB line, threw another can in the tank, and doused the throttle body with deep creep....after doing that and letting it sit i ran it hard to the gas station and filled up....made tons of smoke on the way

Re: Additives that REALLY work!
Ive ran quite a few additives in the past to see how they work. Its kinda hard to say, but I think that anything internal isnt going to help much unless it is seafoam. I mainly used Fuel system cleaners and Restore a couple times. This was in a saturn. I kept the engine running strong and changed the oil with good oil. I saw 41 mpg on more than a few trips.
