AC leak

AC stopped blowing cold air. Filled it up with freon before the summer and it seems to be leaking. Was just wondering where are the common places in these cars to look for leaks?

Re: AC leak

Try a post in “Parts Wanted”. Might run across someone who has deleted their A/C and still has the parts. I deleted mine years ago, and years later gave the condenser to a friend who needed one. Or try online salvage yards.

A caution… there are very few active people on this site any more, explaining the fact no one responded to your original post from 2022. Might look around for other sites that specialize in 4th Gen F-Bodies.

Thanx for the reply. Do I try and go with an aftermarket one? If so, what company?

Re: AC leak

I think you should be able to get new parts for your car. Maybe not GM but others. How did you come to the realization that the condenser is leaking? Did you see leak test dye? Most of the components are accessible to see the dye, except the evaporator. But you can view the condensate drain from that under the car on the passenger side.
How fast is it leaking? If slower than once a month you can just top off the refrigerant that often; and once a year have it evacuated and recharged professionally.

Yes, we all dream on ;-) I advise getting used to topping off the refrigerant for now. When the outlet temp is above 60F it is time.
Buy the R134 online like this one:
Amazon Amazon
Get a hose like this one:
Amazon Amazon
Get a weight scale like this:
Amazon Amazon
Come back here if you want to try it and I will step you through it.

Re: AC leak

Just get your mechanic to recharge the system for now. If it lasts several months you are good. These are old cars and we have to deal with them... Like our wives, patiently ;-) Too many loves.
