1994 Camaro Didn't pass smog.

I just took my moms 94 Camaro to get smogged and it didn't pass because it failed PCV and Vacuum Lines to Sensors on the visual inspection. Also on the 15mph ASM Emission Test it failed. How can I fix it so I can get it to pass?

The Specs of my moms car are

1994 Camaro 3.4L V6 with 4 Speed auto. also I have to pass smog in California.

Use this link and download all 3 sections of the 94 service manual. It has many diagrams of the lines.

From what I understand about this, it means the engine combustion was probably too hot. That could be caused by a vacuum leak. Maybe if you correct the vacuum fittings/hoses that are improper, the high NO may go away.

Re: 1994 Camaro Didn't pass smog.

High NOx is the result of running lean, and/or running hot. It can also result from the EGR system not working. Is one of the vacuum lines that is defective/missing the line to the EGR solenoid, and then to the EGR valve?

The vacuum leak itself could cause it to run lean, but if the O2 sensors are working, they should provide the PCM with a lean reading, causing the PCM to add more fuel.
