v6 to v8 fuelpump question

v6 to v8 fuelpump question
I know i have to chance the fuel pump for the swap....is the v6 "stuff" different then the v8 when i get into the tank to swap out pumps? i guesss what im asking is i can just get a v8 pump and install it?
