Is a smaller aeromotive filter required?

I have the a1000 fuel pump with the larger 2" fuel filter inline ofcourse.. someone told me I also need the smaller fuel filter (10 micron?) in addition to the larger (100?) micron. What do you guys think.

A 100 micron filter (or as small as 45 microns) is usually used on the suction side to protect the pump, the 10 micron filter on the discharge side to protect the injectors.

Gotcha. So 100 (or so) between tank and pump then 10 micron between pump and injectors?

Thanks!

Yes. Some pumps, including the Walbro and the Bosch require a 25 micron pre-filter, according to Kinsler. Others, like Weldon require a 45 micron pre-filter. Mechanical pumps will be OK with 100 microns.
