SES Lean Fuel Code Help

I got scanned today at Pepboys, the car threw a code a week ago. I have Lean Fuel. So that could be a fuel pump right? Or anything related, should I run a diagnostic instead of thinking it could be a fuel pump?
HELP

P0171 and P0174. I saw the code number, and the summary which said Lean Fuel something something. Is there a list where it shows whats up 2000GTP? Thanks for looking by the way.

Check you fuel pressure and also look for any large vacuum leaks, air intake elbow, brake booster line, EGR line, EVAP lines. Also, make sure your MAF sensor is not dirty.

I know where to look for the MAF and my intake filter. I will check my EGR hose to see if there is a hole anywhere and I will find what everythign else is and check them too. My concern is checking fuel pressure, I dont know how to check it.

You would need a fuel pressure test gauge, obtainable from just about any auto parts store, Sears, Wal-Mart, ect. and run about thirty bucks. It connects to the "Schrader valve" on the fuel rail atop the intake manifold. Courtesy of Shoebox, here is a tutorial that goes over the procedure. http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.htm...essure_testing

Your LS1 will not have the same fuel pressure as shown in Shoebox's procedure for the LT1. LS1 engine fuel system runs at 58psi, the LT1 at 43.5psi.

Those two codes set, P0171 for the left bank and P0174 for the right bank, when the long term fuel correction weighted average exceeds +21%, and the short terms are still positive. Either the injectors aren't flowing enough fuel, or the air flow measured by the MAF sensor is understated, or a significant amount of air is bypassing the MAF. Since the codes are for both banks of the engine, the problem has to be in a location that affects both banks of the engine. The list suggested above it pretty complete.

I went to wal-mart bought an air can to blow dust and some brake cleaner. I First checked the entire intake, alot of [edit] dust was in the filter. Checked the TB blade and blew out the MAF, i tightened the booster line it was a bit loose when I did the Seafoam procedure not so long ago. Then I checked the EGR. [edit] that thing had the biggest amount of carbon build-up EVER. Problem fixed , and man it felt like a new engine I am so relieved.
