Angry Service engine soon and mult. misfires

Hi there... ok I have a problem... I have a 2001 camero convertable coop... Two weeks after buying it I had to replace the engine.. I went back with the V-6 3.8L ... Since getting it back I am still having problems getting it to pass inspection... first we are pulling a P-0420 code in addition to the service engine soon light being on... So we checked the O2 sencers.. they are fine... We replaced the cat... drove it the 75 miles and the service engine soon light went out and then soon started to blink and then came back on... We took it to Advanced Auto and they hooked it up to their scanner and it read that there were mult. misfires... so this morning we changed out the plugs and wires... light is still on... help pls... what else can it be?

Why not get the shop that installed the new engine to get it to run right, and guarantee it will pass inspection? I suspect you paid big bucks for a new engine. Running right and passing emissions are the responsibility of the shop to which you paid the money.

Minor point... but its a Camaro convertible coupe. Generally, its a bad idea to come to a Camaro site, and misspell the name of the car
