3rd and 4th gen have the same rear end. It should work the same. I'm in the process of replacing my pump and I opted NOT to do this mod. I don't want a huge hole in a spaceframe chassis. Plus if its done poorly it could leak.

are you asking if a hatch can be cut in the 96 over the gas tank or what? if so yes. if you are asking if its the same pump part number for your 96 , yes it is. i am kind of lost on the point of your question.

like in the dirrections for the 94 that are on this post from 2000gtp
and was also wondering if the guide for the 94 is the same for the 96 (cut in the same place ,same mesurements )
just didnt know if mayby something may have changed from 94 to 96
(pump location, suport brackets line location, etc)just dont want to start cutting and find out the hard way something is diffrent

all should be the same. i cut my 96 up but i went by the ridges on the sheet metal and bought a piece of aluminum that fit perfect for the area i was going to cut. then with some foam tape with some sheet metal screws ,that had rubber washers on them. i sealed it all back up when i was done.
