Misfire, can MSD6A or the MSD gm single connector coil be going bad?

I have the LT1 and have some misfires at WOT for about two months. It probably happens 30-40% of the time when I try to WOT. I don't think it is the optispark cause the day after I replaced the opti it did it again.

I was thinking that the MSD6A or the MSD coil could be going bad, not letting it get a hot enough spark and cause it to misfire. If the MSD6A goes bad does it just completely not work or can it start acting up? Also with the MSD Coil can it start acting up first? Thanks for any help.

You could always disconnect the MSD box and just hook up your ignition back to factory origin and see if the problem persists. If it does, then move on to the next thing. Does the MSD have any visible damage to the outer casing? Do you have a spare coil you can pop in?
