hi there ...
as u guys see from the title am new here and i finally found the place that i can ask in ...
i have a probelm with ma car , i have camaro z28 96, and i havent used it 4 more than 6 months because i have another car so, yesterday i tried 2 start it but i couldn't and i think the problem is in the fuel pump which needs priming but i don't know the lines and i dont' have the manual so i can trace lines with . so, if any one can help me i'll be thankfull ..

You need to see if the fuel pump is supplying the required pressure. A rough test is to press in the valve core of the Schrader valve on the line at the rear of the passenger side fuel rail. If there's pressure, fuel will spray out when you press the valve core in (use a cloth, and don't spray fuel on a hot engine). A more accurate way to determine the health of the fuel system is to use a fuel pressure "test gauge", connected to that same location.
At idle, with the vacuum compensation line removed from the fuel pressure regulator, you want to see 41-47psi. Reconnect the vacuum line, and pressure should drop proportional to intake manifold vacuum, or about 6-8psi drop in pressure with a stock cam. Since it won't start, simply turn the key on, and look for 40psi on the gauge.
Have you scanned the PCM for codes?
