I have a 1995 z28. I replaced the pump about 2 years ago. I have maybe put 7,000 miles on it and its done. I used a specrta premium pump. Well, i wont be putting another one of those in. So what is a better option? Car has basic upgrades. K&N intake, 58mm throttle body, exhaust, and soon better heads and intake and maybe a cam. Just curious to know what is the best fuel pump to use?


And i dont go under a 1/4 tank, and always fill it and use fuel stabilizer before i store it

Is the wire harness worth buying with it. I do like that it connects to the alt. for that extra power boost

 

As long as you're running near stock HP, the Racetronix pump should be OK with the factory wiring. If you plan to start running upwards of 500 flywheel HP, the wiring kit is a good idea to insure low voltage doesn't reduce the flow capacity of the pump below what is required.

With the 23 year old stock wiring, probably a good idea to check the voltage at the connector near the rear axle, to make sure their isn't corrosion or other wiring problem reducing voltage significantly.

 

The RT kit works great and is really easy to install. It is an awesome option.
