L76 swap into 97 SS.
Doing an L76 swap into my 97 SS, and currently trying to figure out the fuel setup. I want to install an aftermarket FPR with braided lines from the factory hard lines to the rail. It is always recommended to install the FPR on the return side. In this case is it necessary to convert the fuel rail to a return system?
L76 as in the truck version of the LS2?
What do the rails look like? The LSx engines generally seem to use a "dead-end" fuel supply system. The pressure is regulated by a bypass off the supply line at the tank. I don't think they are vacuum compensated. The dead-end system is probably OK for anything "stockish", but for higher HP applications, aftermarket "return" style fuel rails are available.
You might get a better response to this one on the LS1 Based Engine Tech forum.

L76 is in the G8, not sure what else.
but normally to get the return line you either change the fuel rails to one that has the FPR on the rail but in the L76 case I think it will require different injectors or spacers b/c I think the injectors are the taller style but not sure....
OR you can go to aftermarket fuel rails and you will get the FPR and all the lines you need. (this is probably what I would do)

It’s a 6.0 bottom end with LS3 top end that comes on Holdens or Caprice SS and Lumina SS as they are called here in the Gulf.
Some people use the 99+ vette filter/regulator assembly, but I’d like to use standard –6AN braided lines with aftermarket regulator.
Would probably go with Aeromotive 13109 regulator and use both the in ports on the feed line and the return port to the return line.
