I am not running it but have learned a bit about it and am familiar with using methanol in race cars, which has many of the same issues. E85 requires ~50% more fuel volume to achieve an equivalent mixture. The main thing required is therefore upgrades to the fuel system to deliver ~50% more fuel. A stock fuel pump may be capable - depends what you are starting with. Larger injectors will certainly be needed as well as reprogramming of the ECU.

If an equavlent mixture is used, the extra fuel volume needed will translate into an ~50% decrease in fuel mileage/gallon. Your tank will seem a lot smaller! Most cars built in the late 90's or later should have materials compatible with E85, but this may be a problem on some and will be a problem on older cars in all likelihood. New vehicles will not have a problem.

Why? And what are you planning regarding the fuel system? Where do you live? I assume you can get it at the pump?

yes, theres probably 3 stations ehre in town that have e85.
Right now, either an aeromotive ae1000, and some 96# injectors, or 2 255lph pumps and 96# injectors.

I live in kansas, and the closest station to me is about 7 minutes from me to get e85

oh, and i am using it, due to it having a little bit colder charge

Sounds like it will work well for you. Once you make the change, I'd be interested in knowing the results. Especially dynio numbers +/or track times and fuel economy. How do you plan to tune?

I have been running it for 4,000 miles. I put up a web site with pics and some information. Will update page every 3,000 miles. http://www.z-e85.com
Only a $500 converter is required. An additional $200 for 8 pulse plugs that will replace spark plugs are supposed to increase fuel efficiency 5-7%. Will probably replace my platinum plugs at the end of the summer.
