A couple weeks ago I filled my tank up friday morning and blew the head gaskets slap out friday afternoon. My Camaro is dead, may it rest in peace. Now I have a full tank of gas that I need to retreve. How can I use the fuel pump on a 96 3.8 to get the gas out to put in my replacement vehicle?

 

Find whatever place on the fuel line that is convenient for you to open up and jumper 12v to the fuel pump prime connector in the RH shock tower area to run the pump and drain the fuel into a container.

 

I was able to siphon the fuel out of my 94.

 

Is it possible to jump it thru the pump relay?

 

It is a cinch to do it through the prime connector that is very easily accessible. Why would you go through the trouble to dig out the relay?

Done and done. Thanx again shoebox for your help. Disconected the fuel lines at the injection system and hung them over the fender into a gas can then ran a wire with a gater clip from the battery to the prime conector. Maby you guys could make this a sticky. Any one doing this should of course follow all safty precautions and have a fire extinguisher on hand just incase.
