Fuel Rail Question for 500+ hp LT1......
Fuel Rail Question for 500+ hp LT1......
Hey guys...question for anyone who knows..
If I am running a 383 LT1 with around 500 to 550 hp and a 150 shot of nitrous, should I do the parallel fuel rail mod, or will the stock (series) fuel rail setup with a good fuel pressure regulator be sufficient?
Thanks to anyone who knows and replies.

Re: Fuel Rail Question for 500+ hp LT1......
Are you runing a wet nitrous system, or a dry system? Only a dry system puts the fuel for the nitrous through the rails. Are your HP numbers rear wheel, or flywheel?
Re: Fuel Rail Question for 500+ hp LT1......
I would run a wet system. It'd be 550 flywheel horsepower or less, without nitrous. I hear that there are 2000 hp engines using series fuel rails and that this series/parallel debate is moot.
Re: Fuel Rail Question for 500+ hp LT1......
Nothing wrong with running in series if the rails are large enough to minimize the pressure drop, and thereby minimize the difference in fuel pressure between the first injector in the path and the last injector. But the question is, are the stock LT1 rails large enough to minimize the pressure drop at 800 or 1,000HP?
I don't know of an LT1 making 2,000HP on stock series rails, but I do know what has been done for specific 800HP and 1,125HP LT1 power adder applications.
