Question fuel pump problems

whats up everyone first post
i have a 95z28 that been acting wired car stalled would restart and stall again
i seen the fuel gauge went past the full mark so that tells me bad ground so i ground it to the body runs for a minute then stalls again i reground the wire to the original ground wire on the pump with a connector now it runs fine any thoughts as to what caused this ?did this solve the problem?or where to look to solve the car is stock except for exhaust and help would be helpful

thanks

I guess you could have just had a bad ground so lucky for you it was an easy fix, but if it does it again I would say the pump is bad.

sounds just like a crappy ground try cleaning the surface maybe its not getting a good enough connection.

If that doesn't work then try grounding it somwhere else but not to the body like 84firebird said.

i think i got it fixed the connector inside of the pump right on top looked real bad wiggled the connector and sure enough it did it again but i could not find the harness or bump assembly anywhere besides GM so i straight wired it and bypassed the bad connector and so far so good
thanks for all the input

So the reason my fuel gauge is pegged all the way past the full mark is because of a grounding issue? I thought it had to do with the floater.
