Fuel pump hose connection?

I can't decide what to do on this. I discovered a crack in the flex tube coming off the fuel pump and connecting to the metal supply line in the tank.
The hose was held on with those crimped clamps with barbs.
Should I put a regular fuel injection hose on there with ss band clamps although the pump output nipple has no dimple on the end to help keep the hose securely attached. Or just buy a whole new pump assembly? The kit I have is the wrong kit. Pump is about four years old and seems fine.

Anyone attached a different hose to their pump besides the stock flex hose even though it looks like a clamped rubber hose would come off easily.

My racetronix pump came with a hole it the flex tube, I put the regular fuel injection hose on it and it's been there for 6 years.

With no barb to help hold the hose on the output nipple of the pump right?

I have one old pump that does have a barb on it, but its too old to use. I'll give it a shot and bench test it to morrow to make sure the system will hold pressure after shutdown.

I have had same problem of hose detachment from the pump output fitting. (Note... I run a dual pump set-up Walbro 255lph - of my own design).

Trashed the stock hose.

I used a 3/8" (-6an) Aeroquip socketless hose which is teflon lined. I used 1 clamp for the radial crimp on the pump fitting. Another stainless steel wire tied to the hose for axial pump pressure loads on the hose. The hose will not slip off. The pump barbs were not retaining the hose crimp with a single clamp. The Aeroquip hose is smooth flow and less friction head flow loss.

Running this way for 6 to 7 years both pumps. Of course, I also redesigned the entire fuel delivery system.

It actually takes 5/16 hose, whch can be found. You want fuel submersible hose, which is different from fuel injection hose.

Hmm, can't say that I've noticed fuel submersible hose before, but not that I looked closely either. I used 5/16 fuel inj hose and it was a very tight fit and used a wide band special clamp so it won't be coming off. Hope the regular hose is ok, same as what I used on my GN pump 9 years ago and its holding up.
I'll ask for that next time I'm in the auto shop to have some on hand.
