fuel pump going bad..

fuel pump going bad..

my car has been having trouble starting when its cold. it cranks but takes a few seconds to start.. after it starts it no problem to start it up with the engine warm.. if i wait to long to start again it would take another few seconds to start.. im going to go get it checked out but need to know how to install a new fuel pump and which 1 should i buy.

Installing a fuel pump can be a bit of a task and involves dropping the tank. Others have taken a lesser approach by doing the "trapdoor method" and basically cutting an access hole and getting to the fuel pump from the top. Another factory replacement would do the trick, or if you have plans for upgrades down the road, a Racetronix replacement is another idea. I would start off by putting a fuel pressure gauge on it though and see what the fuel pressure is doing during startup.
