Fuel pump bucket

Ok, moving right along.

Anyone who has had a hand in the fuel pump assembly on these cars knows of the bucket. To get to the fuel pump you have to (carfully) pry the top off the bucket.

What have you guys used to seal the bucket back up after replacing the pump? I tried RTV sealant last time and the gas just ate it up. Any sugestions of something that will hold, not fall apart from the gas, and NOT contaminate the fuel supply?

Give Racetronix a call and ask them what type of adhesive the supply with their kits. It works great but I can't remember what type it is.

Try seal all. Available in auto pars and hardware stores. I've use it in my custom twin in-pump set-up. jb_weld will not work when imersed in fuel. B.

Loctite brand Super Glue, the gel type works great as it "fuses" the pieces together like was done at the factory.

I tried to find the Loctite stuff but noone had it so I gave up on that but Autozone did have that "Seal All" stuff so i bought that. It does say solvant resistant so it should work well. I set it up and let it dry for a good 10 hours tonight. Looks like it holds VERY well. So I should be ok. The car started right up so I'm happy again. Thanks for all your help guys. I can always count on CZ28.com for tech help.... even if it is just glue advise. LOL

ZIP TIES! I used 4 zip ties around the whole bucket to make a square to put around the bucket. I tie for the top, 1 for left side, 1 for the right side, and 1 for the bottom. Then just tighten them down and your good to go! Then when you have to remove it again you can just cut them off
