Fuel pump 1999 z28

Trying to find the model number for the fuel pump used in the 1999 z28,was quoted 700+ bux for the part from a local Chevy dealer, but see nothing but 2-300 total on NAPA/Rock Auto etc. Wondering if I am looking at the wrong parts with such a difference in price.

This car has been in storage for 6 years, and have had a ton of maintenance work on the engine and replaced my 2.73 with a 3.73....now the fuel pump seems to have gone and I am pre-pricing the item but don't want to go with a cheap part if the one to use really is 700.00

Thanks!

Re: Fuel pump 1999 z28

I found this part #:

Fuel Pump and Sender Assembly
Part Number: MU1730

https://parts-catalog.acdelco.com/ca...log_search.php

In an ebay ad, the GM list was shown as $774. Discount price for an allegedly genuine AC Delco part was $322.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Fuel-Pump-a...-/361975467098

I would check with someone like Racetronix, and see if they sell a quality pump that replaces the one in your existing "sender assembly", rather than buying the complete assembly.

Verify part number, this is just what I found with a quick search.

Re: Fuel pump 1999 z28

The car was towed to the shop and it ran flawlessly for the mechanic, is there a sensor that affects the flow of the gas through the fuel pump, this car has been a sensor nightmare for me in the past, and now i am wondering if the Fuel Pump is fine but there's potentially a sensor going bad....

I've replaced all the O2 sensors, and interestingly in the past, the MAF sensor was bad but the computer reading always diagnosed it wrong (an old school mechanic figured out the problem on that one) so just wondering ....are we dealing with a similar situation with this?

What symptom initially led you to the conclusion “the fuel pump seems to have gone”? Was the pressure low? Was it not turning on?
