fuel octane requirements ???

fuel octane requirements ???

i heard of having to much octane what are some of the symptoms of this i put 10 gallons of 112 in my car with about three gal of 91 drove it around and then took it to the track it ran fine before the track but stumbled from about 4500 up at the track could octane be doing this??

112 octane is most likely leaded fuel. Might slow down the O2 sensors, although they can take the lead for a while before they go bad. Other than that, high octane fuel, even if you don't need it, shouldn't cause it to run rough. The only problem from using higher octane fuel than you really need is a light weight wallet.

My 381 is tuned to run on 94-octane when I'm not spraying. We put C16 (117 R+M/2) in and baselined it without the nitrous, and it picked up 6HP - probably from the higher specific energy content of that fuel. Didn't run any worse.
