Fuel injectors?

I want to replace the injectors with 32 lbs/hr but with this how bad will my gas mileage be and do I need a different fuel pump, regulator?

Re: Fuel injectors?

There will no impact on gas mileage at all. You have the PCM reprogrammed to let it know you're running 32 #/HR injectors, and it will adjust the pulse width to deliver the same amount of fuel your smaller injectors were delivering. Of course if your smaller injectors were too small and the engine was running lean at the top end, that problem will disappear.

What kind of HP are you making at the flywheel? That will determine what you need. From the mods list in your signature - cam (undefined) and headers - the stock injectors may be adequate.

Re: Fuel injectors?

My cam at 050 lift is 230/236. I haven't had it dyno tuned yet but probably around 420 rwhp. After the tune a little more. So leaving my stock injectors in would be fine or do I need an upgrade?

Re: Fuel injectors?

I must be missing something here....
Comp cam camshaft 050 230/236,lifters,pushrods,springs,1.6 RR, SLP cold air intake, Trick flow elbow, jegs MAF, 58mm TB, pacesetter long tubes with pacesetter y-pipe, loud mouth 2 cat back, cat deleted,b&m short throw
...... with only that cam and a set of long tubes.... stock heads, stock displacement, you are making 420rwHP? Through your M6, that would be about 485HP at the flywheel. For 485 at the flywheel, you need 36 #/HR injectors.

Re: Fuel injectors?

Well I was told 420 at the flywheel but 485 sounds wonderful

So I do need to replace my injectors to 36 lbs/hr correct? Not 32?

Re: Fuel injectors?

I'm not sure. How can i tell if it's running lean? I haven't had it tuned yet so it runs horrible right now.

You need to make up your mind.... your first post said you had "420rwHP". That means AT THE REAR WHEELS, not at the flywheel.

Your second post said you were told "420 at the flywheel".

Which is it?

And if I understand correctly, you are basing your claim to 420rwHP on someone "telling" you. Do you understand that you can not make this kind of HP with the mods you listed? Why would anyone build a 420rwHP engine, and leave the stock injectors in there?

None of this makes any sense at all.

Re: Fuel injectors?

I ment in the first post at the flywheel. My apologies.
The guy that told me that has built lt1 and that is what he told me.

I'm sorry for being so confusing. I'm fairly new at all this and I'm learning as I go along.

In your opinion, what kind of hp am I truly making? Also what injector size?

Again, Sorry for being so confusing

Re: Fuel injectors?

Is your list of modifications 100% correct?

If so, you have a CAI, cam and headers/catback. The elbow, the MAF and the 58mm throttle body don't really do anything. You might be 360-385HP at the flywheel. Stock injectors will just about support 360, if it turns out to be 385, you would move up at least to 28's. 30's or 32's would be OK too.
