Not likely. DTC 16 is for the opti.

Dtc16

Shoebox I have been through like 5 opti's finalley i bought the Dynaspark opti for about 500 and my car runs for about 20 min and dies and sputters. Last week when i drove it it wanted to die and it stayed started but would barley go it was going in and out sometimes I would have to wait for about 3 hours to start it back up so the dynaspark lasted me about 1200 miles I am thinking there is something blowing these out I have no idea

What part failed on the 5 previous Optis? Have they all produced DTC 16? Do you have any other codes showing?

Have you ever changed the harness, from the passenger side of the intake manifold to the Opti? Have you inspected it for corrosion or damage to the pins?

Its all been optical Sensors. The harness was replaced and then I bought a Dynaspark where the harness is built in I find it hard to beleave that all 5 opti's just go out like that. I dont know if i have a bad pcm or what but i am running out of ideas

If the 16 is consistent, you have an issue with the signal path from the opti to the PCM. Stop changing optis and start working on the wiring all the way to the opti. 2 connectors means you have 4 pins to mate together where problems can also be.

Yea I am just thinking about buying a new PCM and i will trace that wire to see if there is any damage to it from the opti to pcm

You also might want to verify that you are not getting excessive voltage on the red wire from pin B14 to the Opti.
