Delayed start and Throttle response?

what could cause my lt1 to have a delayed start, run fine for a few minutes then start having a delayed throttle response?...it died once the other day and has been doing this delayed stuff ever since..

Have you checked the fuel pressure?

If you have a code for loss of low resolution pulse signal from the Opti, it would explain the problem. PCM shuts down the fuel system after two crank revolutions without the Opti low res signal. Do you have the specific code numbers?

Might want to add some basic info about your car, including year, model, engine, tranny, and any major mods, using the "signature" option. Not all years of the LT1 are the same in all respects. The 97's for example, have a problem with P0100 for the MAF sensor, related to a problem with the pink wire in the MAF wiring harness.

i dont have the exact codes, but i figured if the if the PCM shut the fuel system down it would not run at all...and i just got the car about a month ago, so i dont know a whole lot about it..its a 94 lt1 with a 700r4(i guess out of a pre-94 model), under pullies, injectors, headers, CAI, and performance heads(i know absolutely nothing else about the heads and neither did the owner)...im not sure what pound fuel injectors, or what size under pullies. i could kick my self in the *** for not finding this stuff out, but the guy i bought it from had it for 4 years and all the stuff was already done, so he didnt know either..

i also noticed that after i have been driving it for a few minutes and come to a red light or have to stop somewhere it idles crazy low like 400 or 500 RPM's..i dont think thats normal because it wasnt doing it before...it feels like its going to die but it doesnt..

1. Check the fuel pressure

2. Get the actual numerical codes. If you are getting a code for the MAF sensor, have you checked the sensor? Does it run any differently if you pull the harness connector off the MAF sensor?

If you have a 700R4 (non-electronic), you should have codes for the missing electronic interfaces for the 4L60E.

Delayed start

well like i said i still dont know a whole lot about this car, next time i buy one its going to be stock so i know everything that's been done to it...now i dont think its the fuel pressure because the other day at work when i turned it off i decided to just turn it back on to see if it delayed as long...well the thing kind of locked up on me...none of the electronics would work it wouldnt even make the dinging sound from the key..so i unhooked the battery reconnected it and it started...still delaying on start but oh well..i did this because sometimes after i drive it a little bit it will crank right back up like nothing is wrong then a few seconds later it starts delaying again. im in college so i dont have all the tools i need to check everything or the time...so im going to drop it off at my friends shop and let them check to see if maybe a wire is getting shorted or something major is wrong..ill post back and let yall know what they told me.

Delayed start

well i took it to the garage and they told me my wiring harness was pretty much fried because a bunch of the wires had melted together and they did not know how far up the wires that were melted went..so im pretty much screwed now..and no body really knows what to do..i found a wiring harness off a 1995 lt1 auto like mine but since mine is a 94 i dont know if it will fit exactly..but it has not been cut at all they just unplugged everything..you can copy and paste this to see the picture of it...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-Truck-Parts-Accessories__95-Camaro-Z-28-SS-LT1-Auto-Engine-Wiring-Harness-1995_W0QQitemZ290273421756QQadiZ2865QQadnZCarQ20Q2 6Q20TruckQ20PartsQ20Q26Q20AccessoriesQQcmdZViewIte mQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item 290273421756&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=72%3A 543|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318"]http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-Truck-Parts-Accessories__95-Camaro-Z-28-SS-LT1-Auto-Engine-Wiring-Harness-1995_W0QQitemZ290273421756QQadiZ2865QQadnZCarQ20Q2 6Q20TruckQ20PartsQ20Q26Q20AccessoriesQQcmdZViewIte mQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item 290273421756&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=72%3A 543|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318[/URL]
