Another Strange Fuel Pump Question...

I am building an intank double pumper for my supercharged stroker LT1 SS. I'm using two Walbro 255 pumps and this is where my question begins. I was able to aquire a brand new Walbro 255 pump from a friend on a trade. I bought another pump using the exact same part number from Summit to have a matching set. After pulling out my current single pumper walbro (no longer working) I noticed a big difference between the intake hole sizes that the sock attaches too. Apparently the 255s I recently purchased are designed to be honda civic factory upgrade replacements. The intake (sockside) is only about 1/4'' in diameter. This is MUCH smaller than the nearly 1 inch diameter opening in the camaro specific 255. 255 is the liter per hour so does the pump intake size matter? I am not going to run the bucket so fittment wont be a problem since the pumps are the exact same size. Professional answers and personal opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Brandon
