What's the Difference??? TC vs T Series Turbos

I'm looking on Jose's website and there is a T78 and a TC78 turbo. Both seem to have the same compressor, turbine, and bearing options. However, the price is a few hundred different.

So what is the difference? I've tried searching here and on the web and I the best answer I could find is that the TC is more compact. If that's true does someone have dimension as to exactly how much smaller it is and in what aspects.

The TC has a small compressor cover and backing plate for a more compact turbo, the T series has the larger AR cover.

That is my understanding as well. The T series should make a little more power than the TC.

So basically what I've found out is that the turbine and center section are the same, but they use a compressor housing from a 60-1 turbo and machine it out to fit the larger compressor wheels.

It does not make as much HP as a full T-series turbo but it is very close.

I got the guy on the turbonetics owner's forum to post up the dimensions. Some of them are cropped, but he's working on fixing that. The TC gets a smaller compressor diameter by about 0.6".

Yup and the TC spools faster. The Info that ive got is that the TC78 will spool faster that the T-76 and make about the same power. I picked up the TC-78 and im using that for my build, its very compact and is perfect for tight engine compartments.

Yes sir guys....we love our TC series units. They are very compact and HP is only marginal less. Typically 1-2% loss or about 1-2lbs/min. Customer of ours is running a pair of them on a heavy f-body running low 8's@~170mph without even pushing them. They are no joke...
