Cometics and similar MLS gaskets leak/seep ~1/3 of the time they are installed. They are about 2X as expensive as the #1074. If you blow a #1074 there is something seriously wrong with your setup which is causing significant detonation.

I run FelPro 1074. I torque them 3 rounds when installing. Let them set/ relax Ovr_night, then re_check . I too have ditched the stock fans. Went with two flex-lite low profile 12". Had to custom mount fans to the be_cool rad. Also moved the rad forward by mod of the front mtr_comp rad steel (available room is quite nice and very maintenance friendly). With LT1 _edit, I run my fans constant. B. (97ss 383-D1)

wow, I didnt know that. I dont need no head aches so I will go with the #1074.

I will look into that fan set-up. thanks for your input. its the second time I blew a fan fuse and I dont want it to happen again so I definately want to change the set-up. My fans are almost canstantly on so thats why the fuse takes a dump on me every once in a while...
