What heads to pair with this shortblock??

I am unsure how to calculate compression ratio, nor have a found a solid answer on what to look for compression wise when aiming for around 750rwhp.

So say your engine was the following...

359ci LT1. 3.5in stroke forged Eagle crank, 6.0in Eage H-beam rods, 4.040 bore CP reverse dome pistons -23cc., Hellfire rings, Clevite H bearings, Internally balanced. Block has 3 center mains splayed 4 bolt.

I know there are alot of factors to figure in, however I am unsure of all of them needed to calculate CR.

The FI app is a TC76 front mount, tubular header hotside.

Also if anyone cares to just educate me on figuring it out for myself I would appreciate it. I am currently still searching to learn more.

Thanks.

Lot's of guys are happy with the Trick Flow heads, AFR's and the new(er) Darts for LT1. They come completely assembled for good prices. I would think all of them would be good choices, but keep in mind the TF have comparatively larger chambers so they could affect your piston compression choice(shoot for 8.8 to 9.0 CompRatio if it is to be a street car so the off the line performance won't be too soggy)

This is a good site to calculate compression ratio:

http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/compstaticcalc.html

I plugged in the following for you:

Bore: 4.03
Stroke: 3.5
Gasket: .049 (Felpro gasket)
Deck height: I don't know how much the piston is in the hole, so I used "0"... you'll need to measure the shortblock
head CC: 63cc (TFS heads are around there)
Piston CC: 23cc

CR = 8.65..... which is a good ratio

Awesome, that is exactly what I needed. Also Dirty I am sending you a PM about your cold side piping.

Don't forget to check the deck height since I used "0" because i didnt know it.

Yeah I definently will, I was more concerned with learning how to calculate it because heads, dual in tank pumps and fabbing up my cold side piping are pretty much all I have left.

Well besides the mounting of the griffin and 4"intercooler, but I need to find a welder for that.

cool. What does the hotside look like?

Tubular headers, that essentially run to the front of the engine bay, where they come together and the turbo sits in the middle and downpipe runs back on the driver-side where the headers would normally come out.

Its really a simple design, i believe it deletes my AC which is fine since it was deleted in the first place. I can send you some pics tonight when I get home if you are interested.

the pipe that the TC sits on is alot like yours here, except the tubular headers run forward into it instead of going back and under.
