wastegate question
wastegate question
is a wastegate 100% necesary in a single turbo set up, are there any ways around it?
i found the turbo i am going to buy, but has no internal wastegate, externals are really expensive. do i have any options

You have to run a wastegate on your system if you want to contol boost and not overspin the turbo.
IF you are that much in a bind with cost for the turbo system i would look at another turbo with an internal wastegate. There is no way i would build up a turbo system then have the possiblility of hurting my turbo and or motor.
You can find used wastegates all over he place fairly cheap. At least get a deltagate (you can find them for 100 or so used)
