Tough to tell, but did you ditch the ABS too?

So what would be a better choice if I wanted to say with a stock cam?

Call911, so even something like 6 or 7 psi...I would still need to upgrade my bottom end?

I'm looking to see if I can go FI without major engine upgrades. Else, I would rather spend the money and re-build a 383 instead. Engine's got 115K miles on it already. Would hate to go FI and then do a rebuild anyways b/c I broke something internal.

With 115k on the clock, I would just assume that you are going to blow the motor anyway and prepared for when it happens. If you want to get some extra power until you are ready to go full out on a build, I would suggest going with N20 for now.

Quit worrying about the cam. That shouldn't even come close to entering into your decision between turbo's and superchargers. Things much more significant to worry about:

Power curve shape.
Response.
Servicability.
Heat.
Tuning.
Mechanical aptitude.
Budget.
Power goals.
Etc. . .

As soon as we are done producing our SRT-4 kits we will be moving on to LT1 kits. We have 2 cars to mock them up to right now, but just not enough time to get it done.

yeah the old comb turned out well. Its now forsale. That one was done with a mig. The headers dont look the best but worked very well. Enough to make 1200hp. If anyone is interested in the kit you need to make your on brackets for p/s and alt. Then possibley move your rad down a bit but wilth low profile fans it might not be necessary. then you will need oil return lines and 2 wastegates and your done. Im looking to get 3k for the kit.
Includes
2 turbos
full exhaust ending at the axles
all intercooler piping
front mount intercooler. If your interested pm me

Westcoast96Z,

to answer your question, "yes" with that much milieage on your motor you will not only need a new bottom end, but I would freshen up everything if you plan on running even 7#'s of boost safely without expecting any eventual damage to the motor.

You probably can run 7#'s of boost without it, but as mentioned by others and myself, eventually it will still take out something in the motor (probably pistons). And with that much mileage, I wouldn't expect things to last long at all. You're better off building up the motor now, than going through the supercharger, or turbo install and only getting to drive it minimal amounts before something goes "boom" and you have to yank everything back out again.

Good lord! Im assuming you went with hard coolant lines so that the rubber ones don't fry on the hot side of the turbo plumbing?

Also the inlet of the turbos have SUUUUUPER low profile filters on them.

>well I hope that if you do start a turbo kit for either or both the LT1 and LS1fbods that they are the high quality work that we have received from you guys, and that you can produce them in a timely manner.
