i wasnt going to post anymore, but PTK results HAVE been posted.

the ET's are not all that impressive, because of inadequate suspension setup, but the MPH proves the power.

lt1 6 speed, completely stock engine except for 1.6RR's
gen1 kit, pt66, 8psi on 93octane
479rwhp/555rwtq
11.31@126.54

same car with T70 and 10psi
528rwhp/ 592rwtq
11.03@130.47

lt1 forged 355, ported stock heads, 218cam
6spd car and full weight 3680
Gen 1 system with 76GTS
13psi and 93 pump gas went:
1/4- 10.17@139.90
(no dyno number, but the mph says enough, estimated 640-690rw)

same car with C16 and 18psi
828rwhp@5700rpms
878rwtq@4300rpms
went 10.13@150.29 and broke the T56.

150mph trap speed on a puny 355ci lt1 is simply amazing results, and thats PTK's gen1 kit, the gen2 is supposed to flow better.

And in the end if you look at it, there isn't much difference in the pricing. STS folks are buying kits, upgrading turbo, methanol injection, BOV and then going with FMIC's. Add that up and you're looking at a PTK kit with either FMIC or A2W and a T76 with some change left over.

That's just a few of the reasons I'll have a PTK on the car by this summer....and I'll be posting up #'s to go along with it.

I wasn't gonna reply because like Geoff I am done with all the bickering back and forth. I'll run my kit you run yours....

But

I can't stand to see the same #s for that PTK car all the time. Are there no other PTK LT1 cars out there to show? I mean your average everyday driver? I find it VERY, did I say VERY? Hard to believe that just your typical everyday LT1 with some good internals went 150mph in the 1/4... Call me crazy but I highly doubt Joe Shmo is going to be able to buy a PTK kit, slap it on a bone stock LT1 (with fuel upgrades) and run 130mph traps. Just doesn't add up in my mind. I'd love to be proven wrong mind you.

We'll see how I do in the spring.

F8L - I hope by then you'll be into the 11's by then... cause that'd be friggin sweet.

Anybody know what NHRA regs say about a pickup truck that traps over 130mph?

I look forward to seeing your progress. Should be a sweet setup. I know the PTK kits are great. I'm just doubtful on some of the times. You're a pretty levelheaded guy Geoff. Says much about your character.

I'll definately hit 11s. The new motor is larger and with forged interals and a bigger fuel system I can run more HP safely than I did before. Plus my tranny wont be slipping as that is getting upgraded as well. My goal is about 11.50s. Unless I get there real easy. Then I may have to push for 10s... Hmm, isn't this how it always starts? LOL

That stock motored LT1 car did blow the motor up, otherwise it would have dipped into the 10s according to the owner. So it was being pushed to and beyond it's limits (the motor). As for the built one. Dont know why it's hard to believe, it was using a huge turbo, race gas, and high relativly high boost. I assume it's true until I have reason to believe Jose was completely lying his *** off in posting the numbers. I dont know why he'd grossly missrepresent PTK with false results. Their mustang stuff seems to do pretty well from what people say. I know the mustang guys like it As people wait for the new racing season this year to start up, I'm sure we'll all hear more track times from PTK and STS alike. Times are sparse for STS and PTK (as you pointed out), so indeed the comparison will be much better by year's end I would hope.

Agreed...

I'm not really into bashing another kit. I know the PTK puts out good #s on the Mustangs. I used to have a S-Trim'd 351w in my 87' GT. I just wanna see more #s from cars that were not installed and tuned by someone in direct connection with PTK. It's harder to fudge #s or missinterpret a combo that way, especially when you see more than a couple cars doing the same thing.

No matter the outcome I think it's going to be a cool year for turbos

As far as I remember, Jose was relaying that info from his customers that had the kits. I dont think jose had anything to do with installing or tuning either one, but I could be wrong.

Ahh, maybe I am mistaken then. No biggie. It's 3rd person at worst case. I really don't care. I'm sure we'll see some other #s eventually

Well, if you want two examples given by a vendor that sells the product, then thats fine. Me, I want to see some board members post some stuff. STS can claim what they want, but I dont believe anything till I see some cz28.com members running the stuff.

I have a .020 over built motor with ported AFR190's and a custom cam, 6spd Convertible Gen 1 PTK system with a MP GT45.

14-18psi... I wonder how fast I'll go...
