5.0 we had an a agreement to stay out of each others threads, i guess you dont want to stick to it? Please dont post in my threads.
As for the cam it idles at 600, its around a 220 cam at best. The tranny is stock with a stall and at 490 hp an tq its not doing well. The car will go the number soon enough. Hes got a stall being built thats correct for a turbo not an N/A car like it is now. Give it time guys

how much does that car weigh?

Let me make some comments here:
Nobody on here can prove a regular turbo kit would have provided better numbers on this GTO. Why you ask? Because I havent seen any kits out yet for GTO's, or atleast results. We all know an STS kit car wont be as fast as a similarly equipped front mount. So what? Its a cheap kit, easy to install, produces GAINS. Maybe not as much gains as some people think is acceptable (5.0THIS), but it does provide gains.
Now, as far as people promising better times in the spring, this was in regards to fbodies. Nobody has been talking about GTO's on here because there are no comparable kits. I am waiting to see "Good" fbody times from all the kits (including the PTK kit).
Another thing to consider is how the people are driving M6 cars (the car in this thread is an auto). I will only be using dr's when I go up since the track is 1hour & 45 minutes from my house and I drive there. I may only run 11.5 @ 130mph with my front mount setup. Does that mean my turbo system is flawed or that is has a ton of lag? No. All it means is I left at idle, pulled a 1.9-2.0 60' and granny shifted down the track. However if I pulled the same times with the sts kit all the haters would say it WAS lag...and everything else is just excuses.
Right now the sts haters are quick to criticize any thread involving sts products. Most people dont realize that driver, setup (dr's, suspension..), mind set of the driver (whether he is going ***** to the wall or just giving a fun a blast down the strip) have a big role in the final numbers. I expect to make 700rwhp @ 15psi with my front mount T76 setup, but I dont expect to break out of the 11's because I dont care. If i do, great, if not, oh well. The once or twice a year i go to the track is just for fun and meeting up with the guys.
All I know is the guy runs a tiny cam (idles like stock - I would guess its a ZO6 equivalent cam) and his car is ~4000lbs. I think 119mph is pretty good for 7-8psi, especially when it takes an 03/04 cobra ~11-12psi to run the same. As far as his stall goes, I dont think its that big, but we'll have to wait and see if someone else knows.

the problem with you sts groupies is you totally overhype........someone posts a mediocre time, and youre all "like omg"........if it was any other setup, no one would compliment it, but because its an sts, the groupies have to say its awesome.
then you are totally over defensive when people point out that theres no reason to hype it.

what f@cking ever man, 119 in 4000 pounds isnt impressive..ok you win, just stop posting here ok. Make a new thread about how its not impressive, I promise I wont be posting in it. You dont even have a turbo car, jesus go somewhere else.

"The STS turbo kit is a good compromise between a SC kit and a traditional front mount turbo kit."
Now that this has been stated, you sts haters can go home now and sleep better at night.
For the last time, nobody on here truly believes an STS car will be faster than an equally setup front mount car. Its a great alternative in forced induction.
As far as hyping, why shouldnt people hype it? lets see here, $5000 for ls1 PTK turbo kit WITHOUT the Turbo, $4k+ for a Vortech kit, $3300-3600 for STS kit (I could have gotten one brand new for $3050). I'll take an STS over a basic supercharger for sure, and its cheaper and easier to install. Af far as front mount, alot harder to install, very expensive, and it clutters up the front. I am doing a front mount for the power potential it offers.
Re: Sts Gto goes 11.7 at 119
STS turbo kits are awesome. They make some serouis horsepower. I also expect 600rwhp at 10psi out of a t67 upgrade. Like mentioned I also really dont care about breaking out of the 11's - it's mostly going to be a car for the streets. Those new rear mounted turbos. I just dont know why people dont like them. I mean there easy to install, they make a ton of power at such a low psi and they dont take up room under the hood. I been watching video clips at jlturbo (under eye candy) and sts and from what I watched these new systems are no joke

Re: Sts Gto goes 11.7 at 119
Okay. I dont care what speed it ran. I have a few thoughts:
1) It certainly sounded interesting off the line. I heard it stall up and was thinking "WTF?!" That would be really neat to do at a light on the street. Confuse the **** out of people. That'd be uber-fun.
2) Holy cow the rear suspension tucked down! It just sank right down! Jeez!
3) It went pretty fast for a piggly car. Gotta give it that. It moved right down the track...
4) It went well if the tranny was slipping. That can make a big difference in times...
I'm just curious as to how they ran the piping, as the GTO does use a dual setup. Granted there is some good room back there, but not all that much. I'm interested to see an under-chassis shot and see how they routed everything. There is potential for better performance because it is a duals car. Gains would be minimal, but present. I wonder if they used that to their advantage.
This kit will not work for the LS2 model GTO I do believe, as they put the exhaust to each side and kept duals? I think the floorpan wont accomidate it anymore... but I could be wrong.
And guys- Keep it to PM's or something. If you want to make a quick post, make it. If you want to say positive or negative- say it ONCE. I'm against STS but I'm sick of the pissing matches. If you really want, make a webpage and link it in your sig, or something... or link to other anti-STS threads. Offer your thoughts on this, but quit flaming. The lot of y'all are fighting over this stuff wayyyy too much and it's bad for your blood pressure.
EDIT: And on a side note - I think F8L's GMC going down the track was MUCH more impressive.

As for keeping it to pms, whatever they come in here and start. Not gonna sit back, and your against sts in the first place so whatever. The squat the gto does is typical of IRS cars esp heavy ones. The guy who built this one and tuned it built mine also
Re: Sts Gto goes 11.7 at 119
I know the squat is typical of IRS cars - but I thought the GTO's suspension was a little stiffer. Interesting.
Intercooled with a BOV! Not too shabby at all! The GTO has awesome ground clearance and tucking that wastegate up just another 1/2" I think would make a great improvement on appearance - though it looks like they used the duals space to their advantage. Cant complain on that at all.
I am against STS, but I know it's a good street kit with a pricetag that is very reasonable. I dont like it, but beauty, and HP, is in the eye of the beholder. It has advantages that shouldnt be ignored.
It's a very clean install. Nice car already, but from those pictures it looks like a very clean kit. The one thing I always hated was all the room in the muffler cavity... Made it look like something was missing. This doesnt seem to suffer the same fate, hopefully that's a good sign. Very clean looking kit, better then some of STS's other kits IMHO. The tial 50mm helps.
I'd love to have a huge gathering of FI GM's in the spring. Just get together and see what happens. Any car that's fast deserves some respect... no matter how it does it or what you think about it.
