Personally, I think the STS kit is a good kit, but poor execution putting it on a GTO. Once again, GM screws the pooch by making another big fat pig like the GTO. Big fat and heavy and just not that visually appealing. GM needs to wake up and smell the coffee and start lightening their performance cars up. Even the F-body's are heavy for what they are. That GTO would be fast as hell if it were down in the 3400lb range and a very respectful street car at that weight even without the turbo. Maybe Jared needs to start giving GM some advice or put the GTO on the Bowflex instead.

Think so huh? Well, you know as well as I do that assuming things about other people over the internet isnt too smart. If you're as rich as you say you are, by all means feel free to come on out to Colorado and meet me in person

Geoff's right though, we should keep this to PMs

I actually just thought of something..... STS was designed for trucks, and seems to work particularly well on them... specifically F8L Z71's truck. I wonder if this GTO being heavier than an af body actually helped to spool the turbo quicker and make it behave more like a traditional kit...

Intercooled with a BOV! Not too shabby at all! The GTO has awesome ground clearance and tucking that wastegate up just another 1/2" I think would make a great improvement on appearance - though it looks like they used the duals space to their advantage. Cant complain on that at all.

I am against STS, but I know it's a good street kit with a pricetag that is very reasonable. I dont like it, but beauty, and HP, is in the eye of the beholder. It has advantages that shouldnt be ignored.

It's a very clean install. Nice car already, but from those pictures it looks like a very clean kit. The one thing I always hated was all the room in the muffler cavity... Made it look like something was missing. This doesnt seem to suffer the same fate, hopefully that's a good sign. Very clean looking kit, better then some of STS's other kits IMHO. The tial 50mm helps.

I'd love to have a huge gathering of FI GM's in the spring. Just get together and see what happens. Any car that's fast deserves some respect... no matter how it does it or what you think about it.
Slowhawk was saying that the next one he does he will cut the pipes a little shorter and reweld to get it tucked even higher. Hes pretty picky and said theres a few spots that were low. As for the springs, no lie theres like 10" of travel in the rear They need an adj spring to come out

credit should be given to sts for assembling a package that will add the kind of (safepower )their kit provides, oh sure they could have made more power but this kit was designed for more power not all out drag racing, you can satisfy some people some of the time but you can't satisfy everyone all the time!

Yeah, i do know him... but that doesn't detract from the validity of my posts.

I didn't like it for reasons explained in various other threads, that when expressed only result in personal attacks from STS owners and groupies.. things like "Die in a fire" is only one example. But, in each car i rode in, it felt like a basically stock LS1 until somewhere near the 4000-4500rpm area, when it blew the tires away. 3 LS1s, all with the same general setup, all felt nearly exactly the same. Sure, the novelty is there, but i'm more inclined to the performance oriented kits like PTK, not the novelty kits like STS. Now, i already know what's going to happen... every STS owner and his brother is going to come in here and tell me that the turbo spools MUCH Faster than that, and i'm full of crap and blah blah blah. Like i said, 3 cars, all performed the same as eachother.

The other thing i don't like about STS is the cult following of the supporters. Worshipping something to the level that some followers do is dangerous. It's not the be all, end all kit, and it never will be. Also on that same logic, neither is any other kit, but several of them are, from a performance standpoint, a superior choice to STS. I said above i'm more partial to PTK and other front mount setups (my car is also a front mount), but i wouldn't defend PTK to my last dying breath like some of you people do. If someone tells me they don't like my custom setup for any particular reason, i don't tell that person to die in a fire... i don't get all my custom front mount pals together and flame the crap out of the person in question, i just understand that it's only the internet, and don't take things too seriously. My point to all of this is some of you need to calm down and reexamine the level of seriousness you carry with you to an internet message board.

^ Its too bad your friend cant engage in a intelligent conversation like you can.... an objective view is always welcomed from me, and the majority of others.. but not when the person is coming off like a 12yr old that forgot to take his ritalin.

I am in no way a "STS Groupie", I had my chance to get a kit with all the upgrades for damn near cost. I turned it down in favor of a Procharger D1SC... I dont know where your friend gets off thinking I promote STS, and you can see from my "Search" example that I dont follow him around being a
"STS groupie" stirring the pot with him.

Anyways... I think the STS is a great kit... it challenges all the rules of FI and so far it seems to steadily proving itself. As I stated before.. we are still in the first month of the race season and I think we will see MANY new, better, times for the STS cars. As if F8L didnt already kinda make a statement with his kit.

Some people should just get a life or a job, either way you people that have nothing nice to say don't say it at all.

But then again, you have no lives or jobs so you need to sit here until the three letters appear and then your keyboards are your lives/jobs.

So people who don't like STS have no life or jobs? By that logic, diehard STS supporters are guilty of the same thing, and also need to get a life and a job... yet, i don't see you telling them that?
