Ross Blower Piston

Ross Blower Piston

Checking out rosses website and found this piston. I talked to the guy at ross and he said it isnt dished its a flat top but its 130 thousands in the hole. Im a newb to firguring calculations and all that stuff. Do you all think this piston would be a good choice with lt1 stock heads?

Alot of folks will say that the lack of quench is going to kill the power. However, just keep in mind that the SRT-4 runs the piston .340" in the hole at TDC and they do pretty good.

Im really considering giving it a try, they are priced very reasonably as well.

Anybody wanna do a compression calc using stock heads untouched, with .039 headgaskets, stock stock and 5.7 rods?

Ross has recommended this for years. They are company that has been around for years and makes a good product. I am not saying this method of lowering compression will not work, as I suspect "quench" doesn't mean very much in a blower car due to the turbulence of the mixture. However, they are the outlier and none of the other well known piston manfacturers does it this way. I'd be a little reluctant.
