Rebuilding engine for the future

I am droping oil pressure right now, so decided o do a preemptive strike and build a 355. Right now I have the bottle, and do plan on using it it for a while. But I ultimately want a supercharger (vortech or ATI don't know yet). I was looking for some tips on a bottom end set (6200-6300 rpm max)up for a street/strip car with a supercharger in mind at least a year and a half down the road. The car is my daily driver also. But in a few years, she will become more strip. Are there pistons with compression ratio good for the street. And what is a good type of piston to get. I don't ever expect to go quicker than high 10's. So I am not looking for a very radical build. I am very naive in this catagory.

Thanks:

Pistons are definitely the "weak point" in a blower car. There are a number of good brands. I have had good personal experience with JE (my current choice) as well as others (Wiseco, Lunati, Ross, etc.). The problem is that you will want a piston with a large dish to lower the CR for the blower and this will not be very compatible with the needs of an NA motor. It wouldn't be horrible, but it wouldn't be great either. If you are SURE you are going to a blower, it's the way to go. If not, put in an "NA piston" and resign yourself to a new "blower" set should you decide to go that way.

A forged lower end is the way to go. You could get away with a steel crank depending upon your final goal. Once you step into the world of FI spending money becomes a problem. Anyway do it right the first time and you have a great car. Perform some searches and find the proven combos. My website has all the parts it took to build what I think is a reliable blower motor. Hope that help some.
