Question on a cam motion cam! need help!
what do you guys think of this cam for a ***** out blown 383 LT1 build. Cam specs are as follows:
233/246 .576/.593 @ 114 Hydraulic
I don't know alot about cams so wanted some input in how this cam will behave. Any info appreciated.

Rich, these #'s are for 1.6:1 Rockers. I was looking at the trickflow heads, but their springs are rated for .600 lift max. Is this cutting it too close with a .593?

Cam Motion's hydraulic roller lobes are typically lazy, and those look par for the course. You could replace it with a comparable Comp cam that's:
1. 230/242-114, .622"/.576" (more low end and same top end as Cam Motion)
or
2. 236/248-114, .624"/.600" (same low end and more top end than Cam Motion)
If you're worried about valvesprings, then change them. If it's a "***** out" build, then you need to check the spring pressures yourself anyway. I'm sure the TFS heads are only set up around 120 lb on the seat, which won't be enough. You would have to shim them up to 145 - 155 lb on the seat, which would reduce the max lift down well below .600". Might as well spend a couple hundred dollars on springs and retainers and set it up right, then you could run .624" intake lift plus get 150 lb seat pressure. Check out the Crane 99893 springs.
