Question about 355 procharged??
I was thinking either having a 396 stroker with a 15 pounds of boost procharger Or maybee just having a 355 with forged internals with 20 pd of boost procharged. How much horsepower I'm I looking at with the 396 compared to the 355. I want a fast street dependable car.

20psi and "dependable" are not really compatible terms. A motor can bel built for that kind of boost, but it will be very expensive. And if the rest of the combo is anywhere near optimzed, it will make huge hp and will need mondo supporting components (fuel system, drivetrain, exhuast system, supension and chassis mods, etc.),
As far as a stroker vs. stock stroke, as long as you are buying a new rotating assy it only makes sense to build a stroker. I am a fan of the 3.75" stroke 383 vs. the 3.875" 396 for reasons to tiresome to go into now.
So, I would advise "none of the above" and suggest you build a 383 and plan to run not more than 12-15psi. It still won't be a cheap or easy project, but it's more realistic than an ultra-high boost motor.

All I want - my goal is to have somewhere around 600 at the wheels but stay dependable also. They have the new cobras running on pump gas and dependable with 650 at the wheels. If I build a 355 with a 15pd boost procharger with all optimal parts do you think thats possible??

in my opinion, there is no such thing as 600rwhp being dependable! With that said you would have no problem building a blown 355 to run in the tens. I have stock heads and intake and I'm almost there with a hot cam and 12#s. Can't get traction and that is causing me to run out of gear because of th350.

I just got back from TEA in Bowling Green with a budy of mine watching them dyno tune his car. It is a 1996 Z-28 with a 355. It has stock crank, Trick Flow rods, custom grind HR cam, JE dished pistons bored .30 over with CNC ported stock heads. It is running a Vortech S-trim with 10 pounds of boost through a T-56 and into a Strange 12 Bolt. The car has SMC alcohol injection and it made 572 RWHP and 511 RWTQ with 93 degree heat and 90% humidity. Just for fun, he iced down a bottle of alcohol and water and replaced what was in the container and it made 18 more RWHP with the iced water/alcohol than the fluid that was in the tank!

A 355 with 15# should be able to give you 600 rwhp, but I agree with rskrause--you're going to need a forged crank and rods to do that anyway, so why not go with the 383. You'll get more out of it. I'd avoid the 396 for various reasons as well.
