IMO, its not cost effective to spend the $ on s supercharger, and then only be able to run under 7#'s of boost safely. Unless you simply want the satisfaction of knowing your car is supercharged.
If you want more bang for your buck (cheep wise) go with a nice set of heads and a bigger cam.
If you really want to make potential from a supercharger, save the $, and get your car setup to take the boost that a REAL supercharger would put out like a D1 unit or Vortec-T trim equivilant.

Keep in mind that he had a "mail order" tune, and not a dyno tune done on it. There are other guys who have ran 6-8#'s on the stock bottom end and lasted quite a while.
IMO, when it comes down to it, its not cost effective to spend that much money on the blower, and not be able to run enough boost to get you much power. If cost is what is holding you back from building the motor to take more boost, I would agree with your call to go with a good heads and cam combo instead.
