Rebuilt the motor and said bye bye to the blower.
Had the blower on the car for maybe 2500 miles. Car had 78k on it when I bolted it on.

Did you have the engine tuned after you put the 6# pulley on?

That was gonna be next. I was running the Crane HI6TR with cockpit adjustable timing control. It would pull timing based on boost levels. Sometimes 1 degree per lb/boost or sometimes a few degrees.
I believe what killed the motor was that my knock sensor went bad. Some days I would get a ton of KR and other days I would get zero no matter what. My PCM not pulling timing when it should have.

Thats the main reason i havent bolted the unit on my stock bottom engine yet. I hear the ring lands take a **** after about 5psi on the stock pistons. Not having it tuned properly and running it lean would surely lead her to an early grave. It seems to be the common situation no matter what s/c yer using, but 5-6 psi on a stock engine seems to be the limit of the internals. Non-intercooled that is. Any anybody running more than 5-6psi on a stock bottom with an intercooler or alcy injection?

Ultimately, I'll probably stick with the 4.5 pulley because that should get me right around 400 rwhp with my mild street setup.
I'm curious if anyone who did a mild blower setup..went back to the stock compression..but just got forged pistons. So stock crank, rods, compression, but forged pistons. I wonder how much psi that motor could hold? because then your not giving up any compression hp as a trade off.

eek...was there anything specific about the day that you think was causing the KR? hot day? alot of driving/racing? thats pretty weird if it was just randomly happening..wonder if you were so close to the line anyway..that maybe it was just the atmopsheric pressure.
