Need help w/ Propane injection.
Need help w/ Propane injection.
Hey guys,
>How does propane injection go hooked up?
Is it just a like a nitrous kit except for the N2O bottle (propane >bottle) and nitrous silenoid (fuel selenoid)?
>Where does it go injected at?
>Can a kit be made out of a nitrous dry kit?
>How much of a difference would it make on a turboed car running 91 oct.?
>
The reason I'm asking is because i'm turboing my Z28 LS1 and w/ gas prices being up so high, 100 octane is $5 a gal. Besides i'm going to test this new Twin Turbo kit of mine to the full extent before i recommend it to anyone. That means running it @ (engine safe) high boost levels, making sure everything holds up, taking the turbos to redline and just putting the whole kit through hell. Any questions, comments or opinions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys

as far as i know, the propane is injected via a nozzle setup, into the intake tract, behind the MAF.
dont quote me on that, but im pretty sure thats how it works.
go ask the turbobuick guys to be sure.
the kit is already available with everything you need, so you dont need to "make one" out of a nitrous kit
it is going to make a HUGE difference on a turbo car, especially if all you have is crappy 91 octane. propane is 100+ octane, so it is like driving around with permanent race gas, plus it lowers intake air temperatures by a lot, so the engine is less likely to get detonation.
btw, there are some kits that have "variable" pressure propane kits, that will respond to how much boost you are running.
the guy that sells them is usually on www.3si.org , just search for propane info.

Propane injection, nitrous injection now water/alcohol. What's next orange juice/milk injection. LOL.
Does the water and alcohol go injected the same way as propane and nitrous or is it different? Thanks

Here you go. This should keep you busy for a while. There is a forum for Alky/Water/Propane injection on this board...
