Methanol questions

Trying to find an intercooler for a p600b that fits well and reasonablely priced but I'm considering just going with methanol/water alone.

I've got a vortech elbow that’s divided so if the nozzle is put after the maf (planning to put it in stock position) I think I would need two for distribution purposes. Would it be ok to spray before the maf sensor? The kit I was looking at has pressure sensors to detect a clogged nozzle and I don't think it would work properly with two nozzles. Just don't want to screw up the maf sensor.

Re: Methanol questions

You can always remove the divider from the vortech elbow - that's what I did. Wasn't quick or easy though - used a sawzall and good sized dremel. You could take and easier approach and just buy the Trick Flow elbow.

Re: Methanol questions

I wouldn't spray before the MAF. I wouldn't want ANY amount of liquid associated with electronics.

You may have to at least notch the divider a bit if you can't get the nozzle back about 1 inch or more. Thats just an opinion though.

Re: Methanol questions

Sounds like it would be better to forget about the pressure sensors (which would make it cost less anyway) and just use two nozzles so distrubution might improve. Thanks.

Re: Methanol questions

Unless your doing some really wild things a simple boost switch to arm the kit is all you really need.

I'm spraying my alky in the section of pipe right before the vortech elbow. My car is speed density though.. I have no idea if thats where your MAF is or if its in the inlet elbow.

Re: Methanol questions

It's not anywhere yet ,still trying to gather parts to put it together. plans are to put it right before the elbow on the pressure side. I've been looking at a dual stage kit from this place.

Re: Methanol questions

Ok, here's a couple more

How will using methanol affect wideband readings if at all?

If a car is tuned without metanol will using it make you rich, lean, what effects will it have?
