Re: Loudest supercharger?
so do i...if i dont pop the hood and just keep a straight face i can play it off as the alternator bearings are shot. the way i have my engine bay set up i have the stock intake stuff overlaid the BOV and charger piping...it honestly looks bone stock minus the injectors.
Re: Loudest supercharger?
the salad shooters, single outlet Flowmaster setup, stock hood, and tinted windows to hide the already not to obtrusive wolfe bar help too..... That and its Fargo ND......there isnt anything too fast there (on the street anyway)
Re: Loudest supercharger?
I think it really depends on the individual unit. Some are just louder than others.
That said, the loudest one I've ever heard was a V-1 T-trim on my buddy's '93 Mustang. When it idles, it can nearly make your ears bleed. Audible under 3k rpm on the highway as well.
I've never heard a V1 Vortech (A, S, or T trim) that was at all quiet.
I also know a couple people that run D1's. I can barely hear them from anything but right next to the truck when the hood is lifted. Very quiet for some reason.
All of the bigger blowers (F1, YS trim) I've heard have been quiet as well.
If you want a loud blower, I think that you wont be dissapointed with an S or T trim Vortech V1. Puling the lining out from the underside of the hood also makes them quite a bit more audible.

Re: Loudest supercharger?
my D1 is loud as ****...if you pop the hood you cant hear the freaking engine idle its very very hard to listen for noises. If i pull up in the parking lot to hang out with my friends and i'm right next to them trying to talk they all "what...what did you say....???man turn off your car i cant hear you"
but my d1 does not have niddle bearings anymore it has the D3 bearings in it.
