I would honestly say they sound the same.

Another vote for the S-trim Vortech. Noisy little bastard isn't it!
Re: Loudest supercharger?
he has a blow off and bypass valve backwards...a blow off valve would be vented to atmosphere, and would be louder, but not recommended on a MAF equipped car because once you let off, the air that is getting "blown off" has already been accounted for by the MAF and has already compensated with fuel, and a rich condition will be had, and you will probably stall, or puff some smoke out the back. this is fine to use on a speed density system though, as the computer calculates fuel by the IAT and MAP sensor. it gives a more "ricey" sound...loudest BOV i can think of is the TurboXS RFL...its got an adjustable note, and i am about to put one on my car...not many FI cars in my area, and i love to watch the lil import kids eyes just blow up in their heads.
a bypass valve on the other hand, recirculates the air from the charge piping (piping after supercharger, and before the throttle body) back to the intake piping before the supercharger, and AFTER the MAF, this happens when vacuum is present. this is done so that all counted air stays in the system and you dont have the rich condition i referred to. they are both the same concept really.

Re: Loudest supercharger?
man, my SQ is seriously super quiet! i can hear it some times like in a parking lot with small rpm changes if its quiet around.
my race flowmaster (6.5" long) was loud before, but with the forced air going to the motor......freakin loud and rowdy!!!!

Re: Loudest supercharger?
I have heard the A-trim Vortech is the loudest. I have a S-trim on my race car and an A-trim on my daily driver and the A-trim is much louder. The gear whine is very noticeable. When I drive by people who dont know what it is yell at me that my car is screwed up.

I see people looking at me whenever I drive it like my car is about to blow up. I have had a couple of people tell me it sounded like a jet
Re: Loudest supercharger?
We have a P600 and we have a little board with all the things that people say is wrong with it.
Fix that P/S pump........, the air conditioning is sure loud on that car.......,
Boy that thing must be hard on belts its slipping all the time..... etc etc.
Either the V1 s trim or the P600, both are loud.....
