Forced Induction Supercharger/Turbocharger

kinda dumb guy here

im gonna turn 16 in a couple months so im really excited about getting my first car (wich i hope will be a camaro, if i can find the right one) but im really only just started getting into cars this past year so i dont kno much. i learned the diff between a super and turbo and that they both have benefits and stuff but i was just kinda wondering if there was a way to install both in the same enine?

It is technically possible to install both on the same engine, but it wouldn't be worth it. Maybe for bragging rights... "yeah, it's got a supercharged, twin turboed, intercooled, methanol injected, nitrous fed, big inch small block."

Hmm, you're giving me ideas.

I would suggest picking up Corky Bell's Turbocharging book. Do a search on Amazon for Corky Bell. He's got a book on supercharging too, but about half of it is taken from the original turbo book.

Also, you can learn a lot from (believe it or not), certain import and Mustang magazines. Either Hot Rod or Car Craft of Popular Hot Rodding is also running a big series of articles on turbochargers this month.

Hot Rod had an ongoing Turbo Article for the last 3 months. It wasnt bad. Told alot of how turbos work, and the important of each compnent in teh set-up. But didnt do a very good job on telling someone how they could get it to work on their car.

Ahh, I misread it. I though he was looking for information on how they worked. That was a 9:30 post, a good hour before the morning coffee kicked in.

Yeah they did, you just needed for fork over $17,000 for an engine and a twin turbo kit.
