What long tubes are you running and where do you have clearance issues? I've got a set of the Hawk's Thirdgen (Stainless Works) longtubes that I'll be installing when the engine goes in. interested to see how they work out.

Planning on turning it up to 6300 rpm for now. could go higher if I wanted but its a street car, don't need to go high rpm.

Hooker Super Comps with the Jet Hot Sterling coating. The passenger side #8 tube hits the rear A arm mount. It looks like I have the room to remove a small section of it and still have free movement of the A arm and clear the header. At least, thats the plan.

WOOOT! so FedEx apparently delivered my original order of parts today. have to get my parents to double check the packing slip tomorrow to see if it is in fact the originals or somehow the new parts that aren't supposed to be ready for another few weeks. only took them about 2 months to deliver them. either way, just glad I finally got the rest of my parts in to finish the engine.

so this project has only taken about 3x as long and about 2x the budget I'd originally planned.

Really wanted to get the engine finished over Thanksgiving break last year but turns out the cam was ground wrong and I had to send it back. Didn't get the new one in until the end of January. Didn't really matter though since I ordered the wrong timing set the first time around. Left to go back to school, ordered the new timing set to be here for Spring Break.

Got home Saturday, went to put the new timing set on, and they put the wrong cam gear in the box Get to wait for Jeg's to send the new timing set which should be here Friday, but doesn't do me any good since I'm leaving Sunday to head back to school.

If I don't finish the car this summer I think I'm just going to burn it.

Finally some serious progress! I've got a few little things left on the engine before it's ready to go in. Going to try and finish up the fuel system tomorrow, then hopefully get the transmission put back together on Thursday. My goal is to be able to at least turn it over with the starter this weekend. Hopefully be ably to start it up. Don't have exhaust for it yet, but the catback is on order. So is the Snow Performance methanol kit, hopefully they'll both be here next week.

As you can see in the last pic, I've gotta space the supercharger bracket out. Took measurements earlier and will have those made tomorrow at the machinist. Get those back tomorrow evening and everything should line up like it's supposed to.

School is coming up fast but I think I finally have a shot of actually being able to take it with me this time. We'll see

I have my ways mwuhahahahaha

actually, it's an SBC universal bracket. Since this is going into a '92 Camaro the standard LT1 and L98 brackets won't work. Had to do this to keep the blower up high. Made an adapter for the crank pulley to be able to attach it to the LT1 balancer.

Finally back to work on this beast of a project.

Got back home yesterday, didn't have much time to work on it today so I just inventoried parts to make sure everything was where I left it.

I've got the last of the exhaust tubing on order, should be here mid-week next week. Have to pull the fuel tank back out to extend the fuel pump wiring a couple of inches, but that shouldn't take long. Hope to have the fuel system finished this weekend.

I've budgeted a lot more time this break to be able to work on it, so hopefully my timeline is a little more realistic. If the transmission doesn't take any long than a day I should be able to put the engine back between the frame rails by the end of next week.

good thing I was planning on rebuilding the transmission anyway. broken 5/6 shift fork as well as a couple of the synchro keys. transmission has been sitting in pieces for 2 years though so it needs a good cleaning as well, all the shafts have light surface corrosion and gunk build-up on them. going to take them to my machinist and get him to polish up the ones he can. gotta take the mainshaft out to him tomorrow anyway to get 2nd and 3rd gears pressed off.

I've gotta wait for the new bronze shift fork pads and billet synchro keys to come in, so I'm thinking about sending the transmission case out to get powdercoated. Probably do either black or silver.

Have to wait till its back together till I can make the new transmission crossmember to clear the exhaust. Probably get to work on the front brakes since I have all the parts for that. Looks like I could be on schedule to have the engine/trans sitting in the car by the end of next weekend if all the parts get in on-time.
