Fuel Pressure Guage Installation

I have an Auto Meter electric fuel pressue guage. I noticed the only port to install the sending unit is the shrader valve filtting located by the regulator.

Is it safe to use that port as permenant fixture location? Do I need to remove the core? Wher do I locate an adapted for this connection?

I was worried that maybe vibration along with the weight of the sending unit may cause damage to the fitting and possible fire.

Thanks!!

The schrader valve fitting is a standard -4 AN fitting. Yes, remove the core before connecting the sending unit. You can use a braided hose with AN fittings between the f.p. schrader valve and the sending unit so you are not directly attaching the sending unit to the crossover tube for the injector rails. Obviously, you then want to securely mount the sending unit to something.

I run my FP sending unit right of the Schrader port. Has anyone had issues or heard of issue with vibration/other when doing this?

Thanks,
Scott.

Thanks,

I had my sender hanging off there for five years without any issues. You wouldn't want to bump it very hard though and some guys have the right idea of remote mounting it and running a hose to the schraeder.
