Canton oil return?

What are you guys doing for an oil return on canton oil pans. It looks like the bigger fitting on top of the sump on the passenger side is the way to go, but what fitting are you guys using? You guys doing swivel AN fittings and braided line?

Re: Canton oil return?

-8an straight thread by 1/2 npt
-8an swevel nut on -8an alum pipe/ 90 degree bend.
Line runs along the pan forward to a 1/2 inch socketless hose.
Other -8an fitings to the D1 oil line return port.
All downhill to the pan.

Re: Canton oil return?

I had a 1/2" npt threaded port welded to the side of my canton pan on the driver side. Here's a pic of it capped before the blower was installed.

Yes to the 90* swivels but not to the braided hose. I used the black nylon covered stuff because it's a bit more flexible than the braided stainless.

Mine. You can see the -10 bulkhead fitting on the front, covered in tape in this picture...

Here's the lines I ordered to feed the turbo and the drain...

If you look at the bottom couple of pictures, you can see drain hookup. Yes, it's IS short but YES, it works fine for the past 3 years.

LT1 POWR - That's where I envisioned the fitting going when building your kit.

Re: Canton oil return?

So why aren't you guys with cantons using the large fitting on the top of the passenger side sump? Too long to run the oil return? It looks to be pretty much downhill from the turbo with no major turns or humps.

Re: Canton oil return?

With my Vortech it's a long run to the wrong side of the pan and there isn't much drop for the drain. Also I want to say that fitting is below the oil level (I had to take mine out and wrap it with tape because oil was seeping past the threads).
